It’s been a minute…

Hello all,

I have been on quite the hiatus in writing anything outside of essential work & school tasks. I thought I’d check back in and say hello!

Like most people can relate to, our family has had lots of ups, downs, and in-between moments over the past couple of years (um, decades). I’m grateful for God’s presence in all of it, though. I hope to share more over the next months of how He met us in the midst and how we can have hope even when things seem desperate.

Some current ‘about us’ info- My hubby and I are in that stage of life where we truly enjoy whatever time we can carve out to be together as we both navigate work and changing family needs. As kids get older and life changes, we so often hear of couples drifting apart. We have been intentional, despite obstacles and how the world may define happiness, to stay connected and supporting one another in love.

Celebrating completing my MSN with milkshakes!

Sometimes it’s celebrations, or just being home walking our pups together, or me coming up with some kind of project I think of, lol. WAIT ’til you see what we’ve been up to with the yard- it deserves it’s own post as we truly planted blessings after being burdened with a long-suffering city project!

Also in things to come, I promise to share some (many) pics of our adorable shibes, who I think we have more pictures of on our phones than our children?

Speaking of children, ours are all in their 20’s (eek) and we are excited to report that they actually still want to hang out with us! Crazy, right? It is a cool stage of parenting but they still need us in various ways and oh, so many hours of prayers as they navigate the world. I’ll share more ahead, but here’s their brief life update:

~ Our eldest who I have written about before continues with her chronic illness challenges, but celebrates with confetti any happy news that comes her way- most recently her 7th wedding anniversary and her husband’s new job this year.
~ Our younger daughter continues to move further away, which she swears is for career opportunities and not to get away from us all. While we miss her and don’t get to have her home as much as we would like, it also means planning some time to visit and play tourist with her. A scheme is in play for me to finally travel there this October.

~ Our son is finishing grad school also out of state, but potentially plans to return home so we won’t be too lonely as empty nesters, haha. Whatever would we do on our own?

So, thanks for reading, and I hope that no matter what ups, downs, or in-between moments you may be experiencing, you seek hope-filled opportunities to see God in them.
